Who Writes This Stuff?

Hello there!

Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the internet.  I'm so glad you stopped by (technologically speaking) and I realize if you're reading this, you probably have a pretty simple question:

"Who the heck writes this stuff?"
Well the answer to that is simple - Me!  The real question, of course, is who am I?  Well friend I'd love to tell you . . . the trick of it is, I'm still trying to find that out.  Aren't we all, at least a little bit?

On the good days, I am as big as my dreams: performing on Broadway, going to Columbia for grad school, seeing the world, starting a large & happy family.

Other days I fear I am as small as my fears: snakes, heights, elevators.  Being forgotten.  Forgetting.

I try to live up to my beliefs: in Salvation, forgiveness, and redemption. I believe in miracles & hard work: family & adventure.  In keeping one eye on the future, one eye on the past, and your head in the present.

Most days, however, I am just. . . me.  Lela.  I'm the daughter of a courageous woman, the product of an abusive home.  I am a college student up to her eyeballs in work and homework and studying and laughter.  I am a dancer, an actress, a singer, a storyteller in any medium I can access.  Someday I hope to do these things professionally.

I am ambitious and talkative and read too much and talk too much and sleep too little. I'm a strong believer in adventure and an avid seeker of it.  I try to find at least a little inspiration in every day life. I don't believe that life just happens to you: rather I believe life is motion, action, doing.  They didn't call it The Big Stillness or The Thought of Creation, it was a bang and an act and that's the way I strive to live.

I hope friend I've answered "who writes this stuff?" to your satisfaction, and you stick around to read along with me.  If not, I hope you're intrigued enough to still read along - if only to discover the "who."  If neither of the above apply, I hope you have a wonderful day and visit again soon!
